SUMMARY:Lenz for the University Museums: new performance on Tuesday 14 March
DESCRIPTION:The events in the University Museums continue with Morfologie del Paesaggio – Reidratazioni performative del presente urbano\, a collaborative project between Lenz Fondazione and the University of Parma to enhance the University’s museum spaces and collections with the creation of contemporary performance\, visual and sound environments\, curated and realised by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto.. \nFrom 14 to 17 March\, at the Museum of Palaeontology\, it will be the turn of the video installation from NUMERI –second chapter of the SACRE SCRITTURE project performed by poet and actor Marcello Sambati. a powerful imagoturgy realised on the shores of the Po in dry weather during the torrid summer months\, which stands as an emblem of a reflection/action on the human being at the time of his greatest crisis and his lowest prospects for survival. \nThe enhancement of the landscape and museum heritage can be realised through experiences with a strong innovative character\, in a fruitful synergy capable of leveraging the artistic potential naturally inherent in spaces and places. The assets that make up the collections of the Museums of the University of Parma\, true treasures in the University buildings\, tell the story of knowledge\, of the approach to the various disciplines\, of discoveries\, of methods of investigation\, and represent a very important legacy from the point of view of both the historical and the scientific good. This is what the project by Lenz and the University of Parma is based on. \nAfter numerous experiences of scenic and performative reinterpretation in various monumental complexes (from the Reggia di Colorno to the Pilotta\, from the Parma Archaeological Museum to the Rocca di San Secondo and many other spaces\, including the Abbazia di Valserena\, seat of the Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione – CSAC of the University of Parma)\, with Morfologie del Paesaggio – Reidratazioni performative del presente urbano Lenz Fondazione continues to generate an aesthetic reactivation of historical heritage through contemporary artistic signs. \nIn the aesthetic and ethical vision of Maria Federica Maestriand Francesco Pititto\, artistic rehydration is capable of acting as a process of ‘restoration’ of buildings and the works they contain. In recounting the history of knowledge and research\, these assets represent an enormous cultural and scientific heritage available to the university and local community\, a priceless multidimensional encyclopaedia to be known\, used and discovered: also through new forms of immersive use\, which transfigure the place with the imaginative power of art. \nAfter a preview represented by the performance by and with Monica Barone UMANO\, DISUMANO\, POSTUMANO\, produced by Lenz Fondazione at the University’s Museum of Natural History in September 2022\, in 2023 the project enters the heart of a composite programme (from live performances to video installations\, from seminars to meetings with students\, from artistic residencies to streamed works) and branched out\, as it will take place in different locations: from the University’s main campus (with the Bottego Museum and the Philosophers’ Hall) to the Science and Technology Campus\, with the Palaeontology Museum\, and the Cloisters of the Paolotti University Library. \non 21 March\, International Day of Persons with Down Syndrome\, at 9 p.m. in the Aula dei Filosofi of the University of Parma’s headquarters\, will stage HAMLET SOLO\, a contemporary performative reworking of theAmleto by Shakespeare\, starring Barbara Voghera\, a sensitive actress with Down’s syndrome\, who has been a valuable identifying presence in the historic Lenz ensemble for over twenty years. \nROOMS/Introduction meetings to the scheduled works are scheduled for 1 March at 5 p.m. and 14 March at 4 p.m. at the Museum of Palaeontology on the Science and Technology Campus\, and 20 March at 5 p.m. in the Philosophers’ Hall at the University’s main campus. \nOn 5 and 6 July at 9 p.m. at the Chiostro dei Paolotti\, Monica Barone\, a dancer with a great performative sensitivity matured in her relationship with her own physical specificity\, will perform IPHIGENIA IN TAURIDE\,Lenz’s work the result of a triple inspiration: Goethe’s dramaIphigenie auf Tauris (1787)\, the work of GluckIphigénie en Tauride (1779) and the historic action of Joseph Beuys Titus-Iphigenie (1969). \nIn autumn\, the project will reach its final stage with the fourth action of the project BESTIARIO_FEMMINILE ANIMALE\, Natura Dèi Teatri 02\, hinged on the creation of artistic affinity or ‘kinship’ relationships with 12 female artists over the three-year period 22-24. In the fourth action the artist Muna Mussie will be engaged in a residency on dialogue between blind and sighted people through the Braille writing and reading method and Embroidery\, culminating in a performance on 12 and 13 October at 6 p.m. in the Sala Bottego of the Natural History Museum. \nFinally\, the project extends to other prominent venues of the urban present\, such as the WOPA- Workout Pasubio and the Galleria San Ludovico\, where Lenz will realise performances\, meetings and workshops throughout 2023. \nThe enhancement of the landscape and monumental heritage of the area in which it has been operating since 1985 is one of the founding pillars of Lenz Fondazione’s three-year macro-project 2022 → 2024\, entitled Nuove Geosofie e nuovi Bestiari nel Teatro di Lenz. \n*** \nCALENDARIO \n[ LA CREAZIONE_ORATORIO ]\nProgetto Sacre Scritture\nVisual installation + performance \nCreation by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto\nPerformers | Valentina Barbarini and Victoria Vasquez Jurado (soprano)\nMusic | Andrea Azzali\, Franz Joseph Haydn \nMuseo di Paleontologia_Campus Scienze e Tecnologie Università di Parma\nWednesday 1 March 5 p.m. RooM| Meeting with students\nWednesday 1 March at 18.00LA CREAZIONE_ORATORIO performance\nThursday 2 March at 18.00 LA CREAZIONE_ORATORIO performance \nFREE ADMISSION \n***\n[ NUMERI ]\nProject Sacre Scritture\nVideo installation \nCreation by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto\nMusic | Andrea Azzali\nVoice over | Marcello Sambati \nMuseo di Paleontologia_Campus Scienze e Tecnologie Università di Parma\nTuesday 14 March at 16.00 RooM | Meeting with students\n14-15-16-17 March 4-7 p.m. NUMERI video installation \nFREE ADMISSION \n***\n[ HAMLET SOLO ]\nVisual installation + performance \nCreation by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto\nMusic | Andrea Azzali\nperformer | Barbara Voghera \nAula dei Filosofi_Università di Parma\nMonday 20 March at 17.00 RooM |Meeting with students\nTuesday 21 March 21.00HAMLET SOLO performance \nTICKET: € 8 REDUCED STUDENTS | € 12 FULL \n***\n[ IPHIGENIA IN TAURIDE ]\nVideo installation and performance \nCreation by Maria Federica Maestri and Francesco Pititto\nPerformer | Monica Barone\nMusic | Christoph Willibald Gluck \nChiostro dei Paolotti\nWednesday 5 July at 21.00\nThursday 6 July at 21.00 \nTICKET: € 8 REDUCED STUDENTS | € 12 FULL \n***\n[ FÒRO FÒRO ]\nWorkshop + residenza + performance \nProject NDT.02_Parentele\nParentela 4_Muna Mussie \nSala Bottego del Museo di Storia Naturale_Università di Parma\nThursday 12 October at 18.00\nFriday 13 October at 18.00 \nFREE ADMISSION \nThe complete calendar. \nFor information and reservations: Lenz Teatro\, Via Pasubio 3/e\, Parma\, tel. 0521 270141\, mob. e WhatsApp 335 6096220 – mail info@lenzfondazione.it – www.lenzfondazione.it

SUMMARY:A series of events accompanies the exhibition "Vedere l'invisibile"
DESCRIPTION:Beginning in November\, and continuing until 12 January\, a series of side events at the exhibition “Vedere l’invisibile” \nThis is an extensive series of lectures\, workshops and conferences designed as a satellite event of the exhibition “Vedere l’invisibile. Dall’infinitamente piccolo all’infinitamente grande”\, organised by the Sistema Museale di Ateneo dell’Università di Parma and open to the APE Pama Museo until next 15 January. \nIt begins on 9 and 23 November with the ‘Scienza e Letteratura’ lecture series The first two lectures provide a historical-methodological overview of the implications of epistemological changes on the representation of the world in literature and the very idea of its representability. The lectures are curated by Federico Laudisa and Massimiliano Tortora.\nIt continues with three appointments (30 November\, 10 January and 12 January) in which the literature-science nexus will be analysed and exemplified through the work of important 20th-century authors: Primo Levi\, Italo Calvino and Daniele del Giudice. This second series includes an introductory lecture followed by a teaching workshop more specifically aimed at refresher courses for high school teachers. \nOn 15 November\, we will travel through the galaxy\, among stars and planets\, with Cristian Carli and Roberto Orosei. \nThe ADISCO\, Associazione Donatrici Sangue Cordone Ombelicale (Umbilical Cord Blood Donors Association)\, is organising a conference on the afternoon of Tuesday 22 November entitled “Una mamma per amica. La donazione del sangue del cordone ombelicale e il suo utilizzo”. \nMedicines will be the focus of Livia Ruffini’s conference ‘Radiopharmaceuticals and Industry: Opportunities and Strategies in the Global Market’\, scheduled for Wednesday 30 November. \nIn the infinite ranges of small and large\, the meeting point between technique and the art of imaging could not be missing. On the afternoon of Thursday 1 December\, a series of meetings will take place\, focusing on the theme of the infinitely small and the infinitely large in photography and painting\, curated by Silvio Wolf\, Cristina Cesero\, Giorgio Milanesi and Gianluca Poldi. \nThe exhibition is not only aimed at adults and older children. Even the smallest children are involved in the many aspects of the infinitely small and large. On Friday 2 December\, Ada Cigala and Claudia Lichene will explain how the science lab can also be suitable for nursery and pre-school. On the same theme of science for children\, also the meeting on Tuesday 6 December with Maja Antonietti\, Paola Corsaro and Elena Luciano. \nAfter the Christmas break\, we will meet again in January with the last two events: on 10 January\, Irene Binini and Wolfgang Huemer‘s lecture “Imagining the Impossible”\, and on Wednesday 11 January “Material/Immaterial: Light in the Art of the Second Twentieth Century” with Cristina Casero and Alessandra Acocella. \nAll events take place at the Auditorium of Ape Parma Museo\, Strada Farini 32/A\, Parma.\nEntrance is free. \nFor the programme download the poster.

SUMMARY:Until 15 January\, the exhibition "Vedere l'invisibile. Dall'infinitamente piccolo\, all'infinitamente grande"
DESCRIPTION:From subatomic particles to the Universe: it is a journey without limits of size that is proposed by the multimedia science exhibition “Vedere l’invisibile. Dall’infinitamente piccolo all’infinitamente grande” organised by the Sistema Museale dell’Università di Parma and held at the APE Parma Museo (Strada Farini\, 32/A). \n \n \nThe exhibition will be open to the public from 29 October to 15 January 2023. \n \n \nThe leitmotif of the exhibition covers an exceptional range of scales of dimensions from the subatomic particles of the infinitely small to the extreme distances of the Universe of the infinitely large\, passing through the invisible\, in its manifold nature: within the human body\, the ground\, the surface of planets and even in the humanities. \n \n \nAn invisible that can be explored through augmented reality\, the display of historical instruments\, projected images and videos\, with interactive exhibits and explanatory panels. Workshops for schools and conferences are also on the agenda. \n \n \nThe topics covered by the exhibition are those studied in the laboratories and departments of the University of Parma and developed\, in many cases\, in national and international collaborations by the University’s researchers and lecturers. \n \n \nThe exhibition is divided into six main sections: Room Zero: The infinitely close\, immersed in the everyday The invisible because infinitely small The invisible because hidden The invisible large and small in children’s di-signs Cross-section ‘Science and the imaginary. SUMMARY:From 5 June 'Insostenibile': nine films\, five themes\, a month of cinema and the environment. Initiatives also at the Botanical Gardene all'Orto Botanico.
DESCRIPTION:From 5 June to 8 July\, in Parma and its province\, nine films\, five themes\, a month of cinema and the environment. This is the proposal of Insostenibile\, a festival that fixes its gaze on a planet threatened by climatic\, environmental\, and energy crises\, listening in search of possible alternatives.\nFaced with the chaotic and complex images of a scorching world\, Insostenibile questions the meaning of making culture\, finding in cinema and its boundless stories a passage to the present. \nInsostenibile is a film festival conceived and curated by the social promotion association 24FPS with the contribution of the Fondazione Cariparma\, the patronage of the University of Parma\, the collaboration of the municipalities of Montechiarugolo and Borgotaro\, the Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Parma\, the participation of sponsors such as Opem and Podere Stuard\, and the partnership of multiple interlocutors (WWF\, CAI\, Legambiente\, ADA\, Centro Etica Ambientale among many others) who have believed in the project. \nThe 2022 edition will focus on five macro themes related to the environment: Water\, Climate\, City\, Work\, Earth. One day a week will be dedicated to each of these\, with an evening screening of Italian and international documentaries. Before the screenings\, in the afternoon\, there will be informal meetings with local personalities and realities sensitive to the themes of the event: companies\, associations\, entrepreneurs\, Unipr professors and researchers\, journalists and activists. Unsustainable will take its guests to the Botanical Garden of the University of Parma\, to the kiosk in Parco Ducale\, it will go to the suburbs to meet innovative realities such as the Picasso Food Forest\, it will be welcomed among the greenhouses of Podere Stuard\, and it will move by bicycle together with Musei Urbani to discover a little-known city. \nInitiatives at the Botanical Garden\nvia Farini\, 90 – Parma \n10 giugno – ore 17.00 \n10 June – 5 p.m.\nInauguration of the exhibition MORFOGENESI by Achille Ascani and Giovanni Nicoli\, a series of photographs of plant elements\, taken with a microscope\, and presentation of the pamphlet “Un disenantato (scientifico) ritratto del Mondo” (A disenchanted (scientific) portrait of the World) edited by Rossano Bolpagni (Researcher\, Department of Chemical\, Voting and Environmental Sustainability Sciences\, University of Parma) \nIn the indoor spaces of the Botanical Garden\, screening of the short documentary “The Botanist” by Maude Plante-Husaruk and Maxime Lacoste-Lebulis. After the collapse of the Soviet Union\, Tajikistan was ravaged by a long and devastating civil war. Raïmberdi is a botanist who\, in the aftermath of the war\, lost everything and moved with his family to the barren mountains of the Pamir\, building a small\, self-sufficient reproduction. In his spare moments\, he catalogues rare plant species in his beautiful calligraphy \n10 June – 6 pm\nMeeting with Massimo Gibertoni (President of the Circolo Aironi del Po Polesine)\, Marco Bartoli (Professor\, Department of Chemical\, Voting and Environmental Sustainability Sciences\, University of Parma)\, Roberto Montali (Club Alpino Italiano – Parma Section)\, Giulia Paltrinieri (journalist and author of the web-doc “Le mani sul fiume”\, Caterina Erica Shanta (author of the documentary “Terre Emerse”.\nThe guests will discuss the biodiversity of the Po River. \nFree access \n  \nScreenings \nInsostenibile spreads across the Parma area\, involving in its screenings – in addition to Parma’s Cinema d’Azeglio and Astra – a series of sensitive and unusual locations such as a centuries-old chestnut grove in Tiedoli in the municipality of Borgotaro\, with a full day of excursions\, workshops and even the possibility of staying in a tent. The outdoor courtyard of the Opem company in the Spip industrial district will be transformed into an open-air cinema for the first time\, as will the meadows of the Stuard farm. \nThe films \nUnsustainable opens on Sunday 5 June on World Environment Day at the Cinema Astra in Parma with the award-winning documentary Once you know by French director Emmanuel Cappellin. The festival programme consists of national short and feature films in the presence of the directors. Le Mani sul Fiume by Giulia Paltrinieri and Terre Emerse by Caterina Erica Shanta (on 10 June at the Cinema d’Azeglio) will touch on the theme of the great river Po. Andrea Dalpian’s Contact (18 June in the centuries-old chestnut grove of Tiedoli) will take two young wolves into the mountains. International documentaries\, such as Journey to Utopia (18 June at the Astra cinema) by Erlend E. Mo and The Botanist (Botanical Garden 10 June)\, The Price of Progress by Victor Luengo (Italian premiere at Opem on 30 June)\, will trigger a comparison with what is happening globally. La Ville Engloutie (on 24 June at Cinema Astra) by Anna de Manincor will help us question the future of cities. Alessandra Coppola’s La restanza (8 July at the Podere Stuard) will conclude the festival by taking us to the wheat fields of Puglia. \nInsostenibile involves adults\, adolescents and children\, thanks to projects such as the Young Jury (a selection of students from the Green Team of the Liceo Romagnosi in Parma will award a merit mention to the best film) and for the youngest children educational workshops linked to the themes of the festival\, held in the summer centres of Parma (in collaboration with Legambiente Parma) and Monticelli Terme (in collaboration with the municipalities of Montechiarugolo and Monticelli Terme\, the coop Cigno Verde and the association Tangram – cantieri creativi di comunità)\, also including two trips to the Rivalta farm and the Stuard farm. \nThe complete programme of the event is available on the 24fps.it website and will be illustrated in a free printed magazine designed as an in-depth study tool. \nInfo: www.24fps.it / info@24fps.it / social @24fps.obiettivocinema / #insostenibile2022

SUMMARY:Guided tours of the Gardoni Herbarium
DESCRIPTION:Special guided tours of the Gardoni Herbarium will be conducted on Saturday 4 June. A selection of material not generally accessible to the public\, recently discovered and catalogued\, will be illustrated to groups of 25 people by reservation to be made using the form available on this page. Five times are available while places last: 3.30 pm\, 4.30 pm\, 5.30 pm\, 6.30 pm. \nIn the mid-19th century\, Luigi Gardoni ran the Antica Spezieria di San Giovanni and devoted his life to the collection of medicinal plants. Combining information on traditions\, pharmaceutical and cosmetic uses of plants\, mixing legends\, science and a good dose of creativity\, he created an eclectic herbarium\, impossible to complete and heterogeneous in its aims. \nLet us give the numbers: the herbarium includes 268 files and more than 10\,000 sheets containing dried plants from different parts of the world. There are 447 boxes containing plant parts and a plethora of advertising materials\, illustrations\, book pages and manuscripts\, along with poems\, personal notes and commercial products. This miscellany is a great time capsule\, a cross-section of 19th-century pharmaceutical life and the relationships still alive today between doctors and patients\, cures and trade\, men and plants\, science and superstition. \nThe Gardoni Herbarium is neither a pharmacopoeia nor a scientific herbarium\, but the reason for living of a man poised between the desire for knowledge and the demon of accumulation. It offers a historical cross-section that remains relevant today: that of human expectations for better health and the blurred boundary between science and desires. At the same time\, it shows a world from which many plants have disappeared because they have been replaced by more effective remedies or replaced by something else in the consumer’s imagination. \n  \nSorry this appointment type isn't available\, please check back later \n
