11. The Angelo Andres section

The exhibition ends with the reconstructed study of Prof. Angelo Andres, the architect of the last museum revolution before the advent of MUST.

A great scholar of biology and marine fauna, and also a pupil of Thomas Henry Huxley, Angelo Andres distinguished himself for his studies on cnidarians and his great museological propensity. It is still impressive today to see, among the countless exhibits on display and in storage, the Professor’s meticulous notes and annotations under the pedestals of the specimens, as well as the countless cards inserted into the exhibits containing information on classification, provenance, acquisition and discovery. He was an innovator but also a meticulous and precise naturalist.
