The ‘Lorenzo Tenchini’ Biomedicine Collection provides the following educational services for students and researchers of the University of Parma, Universities and other Research and Cultural Institutions in Italy and internationally, the city and provincial school communities of all levels, and network users:

– on-line multimedia didactics for students, postgraduates and PhD students in the biomedical sector of the University of Parma, based on 3D virtual reconstruction technologies and hypertextual and immersive navigation of the preparations forming part of the collections (see sections 1-5 of the museum website www.anfamedmuseo.unipr.it);
– training courses for students, PhD students and researchers, both Italian and foreign, engaged in learning technologies for conservation, innovative restoration based on biomaterials, 3D virtual reconstruction, historical/archival research, cataloguing and multimedia display of human anatomical and ceroplastic materials, as part of the Spreading Research internationalisation initiatives promoted by the University of Parma – University Museum System, in particular those related to the enhancement of placement, international mobility, reception and dissemination of scientific research (see section Traineeship for International Students at the University Museums);

– guided tours by appointment to the Collections, the usability of which depends on the various restoration, maintenance or display requirements at other locations of the materials;
– guided tours by appointment to the volumes and historical-scientific documentation related to the collections, which are kept in the Historical Museum Library, established within the Library of the Anatomy Unit of the S.Bi.Bi.T. Department, the usability of which depends on the various restoration, maintenance or display requirements at other locations of the collected materials;
– organisation of exhibitions and displays of museum materials, with the specific aim of disseminating biomedical scientific culture, and networking of content on the museum website (www.anfamedmuseo.unipr.it) and that of the National Network of University Museums (www.pomui.unimore.it), with free access to all web users
