10. Del Prato local collection
Following the exit route from the section, you return to the main gallery to embark on a journey characterised by Alberto Del Prato’s collection of vertebrates from the Parma area.
This vast collection, also created under Strobel’s direction, offers a glimpse into the biodiversity of the province of Parma in the second half of the 19th century.
Curious animals, now extinct, are displayed alongside species still present in the area. The exhibition is organised mainly according to geography, with the species divided into three environments: plains, hills and mountains.
