Of historical and aesthetic importance, the herbarium was prepared by the young Albertina Sanvitale, daughter of Duchess Maria Luigia, between 1828 and 1830.
It consists of fragments of dried plants attached to closed sheets and placed between two cartons in the form of a volume.
The captions are in French and indicate places and dates of collection. However, species names are missing.
