The Macedonio Melloni Museum exhibits a collection consisting of a series of instruments and accessory components of the bench itself, comprising lenses of various types, cubes and solids of various shapes and colours, original galvanometers of the time and thermomultipliers that Melloni designed and used for his experiments.
The collection also includes a series of small paintings with rare and very special coloured images obtained by thermochrosis, i.e. the property of various substances to absorb heat radiation selectively, depending on the frequency of the radiation, and to colour themselves variously accordingly.
Among the curiosities is an original barometer made by Melloni, the only known example.
