This is an extensive 19th-century collection of  living vertebrates coming from the area near Parma preserved by very skilled keepers.
It is rich in birds (approximately 700 specimens), but also in rodents and bats. The majority of bats are preserved in fluid.
It should be noted that a considerable number of the species in this area are now extinct, in particular fish and amphibians.
