Researchers’ Night: events at museums and collections
The University Museum Network is also taking part in Researchers’ Night with a number of events.
The MUST – Museum of Natural Historiography is organising an urban tour to discover fossils: “FOSSIL HUNTING! – Urban palaeontology in the city of Parma”
The route winds its way from Piazza Ghiaia through the streets of the city centre, passing by the MUST, in search of the fossils hidden within the city’s stonework.
A journey through time and space to identify the remains of animals that inhabited the Earth before humans.
ACCESS, TIMES AND DURATION: Booking required.
Two sessions of 25 people each:
Session 1: meet at Piazza Ghiaia at 2.15 pm
Session 2: meet at Piazza Ghiaia at 2.45 pm
The tour lasts approximately 1 hour.

The Crystal Chemistry Collection offers guided tours and hands-on experiments with ‘VISION3D: journeys into the nanoworld of crystals through virtual reality and augmented reality’.
Themed guided tours of the Crystal Chemistry Collection: each tour will focus on an element from the periodic table, or on a molecule that is important for life and the environment, exploring the atomic-level structures of materials and their properties. The tours
will be followed by experimental activities using virtual reality and augmented reality headsets, and the analysis of samples under a microscope

No booking is required.
Duration of the tour: 30–40 minutes. This is followed by a hands-on activity using a microscope and a molecular simulation in augmented reality.

At the Mathematics and Computer Science Collection, visitors can explore two themed tours focusing on Pythagorean geometry and the history of the computer: a visit to the exhibition ‘Pythagoras and his Theorem’ and a visit to the ‘Interactive Exhibition on the History of the Personal Computer’
The exhibition ‘Pythagoras and His Theorem’ offers personalised and interactive experiences that will appeal to ‘children’ of all ages.

A visit to the Interactive Exhibition on the History of the Personal Computer will take us on an interactive and personalised journey through time, exploring the history of the computer

LOCATION: Mathematics Complex – Hall 21 – First floor – Exhibition Hall.
The CSAC – Centre for Studies and Archive of Communication – presents a reflection on environmental issues through a dialogue between different art forms: “GREEN SYMPHONY: music, words, art”
The central theme will be the performance of several movements from Vivaldi’s *The Four Seasons* (in the arrangement for solo violin), interspersed with recitations of sonnets and short literary texts celebrating the poetic beauty of nature. These will be complemented by readings of selected scientific passages on the same themes.
The event will take place in a chapel within the church, which will be decorated for the occasion with paintings depicting nature.
TIMES AND DURATION: Free admission, subject to availability
